Mercy, mercy me activities HERE! :-)

Today (Earth´s Day) I worked the song Mercy, Mercy, me by Marvin Gaye with some of my classes. I hope they liked it. It talks about environmental problems. As an optional activity, the students of 3ºC had to answer the questions of the following worksheet (you have it already!):

Marvin Gaye and The Earth´s Day (22nd April) at School Soon!

The first post of this blog is dedicated to the birth anniversary of Marvin Gaye, one of the greatest soul and motown singers of the twentieth century. Born in Washington D.C. on the 2nd of April 1939, he was shot dead by his father after an argument on the 1st April 1984.
He became the label's (Motown Records) top-selling singer during the 1960s.
Among his hits we can mention: "I heard it through the Grapevine", "What´s Going on", "Ain´t that Peculiar", "Mercy, Mercy me (The Ecology) and "Let´s Get it on". Together with the female singer Tammi Terrell he released the hits "Ain´t no Mountain High Enough" and "You´re All I need". His songs are featured in many films, so I am sure you know a lot of songs by this artist, but you might not be aware of it. Why did the "Prince of Soul" have to leave us in such a tragic way?
Next 22nd of April we are going to celebrate The Earth´s Day at school and one of the activities that the English Department has planned for that day is to listen to the song "Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)" (click on the link to be able to see the lyrics) by Gaye. Here you can watch the Youtube video, and post your opinion about the song and about Marvin Gaye.
